Talsari beach: a micro view

This is a photo of a child holding a red crab on Talasari beach of Balasore.
There are so many children like this one. They catch the red crab and
show to tourists to earn money. they also guide the tourists. This is their daily work. they do not go to school.
Do you know? why they do not go to school?
Because they are the only source of income for their family. These small earnings of ten/ twenty are not meant for their pocket money. These are the only income for the livelihood of their family. they spent the whole day by running behind the crabs and playing with sand.
i met and asked one of them about his family. he said, "my mother will have waiting for me. i will give her my whole day income spending which she will buy rice." when i asked about his father he slowly said, "my father is a drunker" and ran away.
what are you thinking? do we have some duty for them?
these small hands are for what? chalk or leg of crab?
